The VHS-YRG Care Medical Centre, set up in VHS with the support of the Y.R. Gaitonde Centre for AIDS Research and Education, has a 24-bed ward and a day care centre that treats AIDS patients. Other than Government Hospitals, VHS is the one of the very few private hospitals to take care of HIV / AIDS patients.

The Operation Theatre and Labour Ward Block handles cases with HIV. It has out-patient cubicles and 4 special air-conditioned ward rooms with attached bath.

To offer the patients added services, the VHS-YRG Care Infectious Diseases Laboratory focuses on newer diagnostic methods and research on HIV / AIDS and other opportunistic infections. It has been recognised by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).
